Definition of a Content Page
& How to Build One

Content Pages

A content page is a stand alone page on your website that acts as a side-door into your website. The front door is of  course your homepage. Each Content Page is optimized (looks good to the search engines) for one keyword. Remember a  keyword can be a phrase also. You need to develop a list of 6 to 8 keywords. To develop your list of keywords, click here. As I said you will dedicate one content page to one keyword. You will have 6 to 8 Content Pages at the end of this process. Can you add more later? Absolutely.

I would look for keywords in the 500 to 5,000 range per month or 17 to 170 per day. These figures are for the number  of people that have searched for this keyword last month per search engine.

Once you come up with a list of keywords (find more than 6 to 8 if you can but choose the 6 to 8 you like the best),  write a page of text that has the following characteristics:

  1. The keyword as the Header (headline).
  2. Add a picture of the item (first download it to your computer and then upload it to your content page. Name it something you will remember  like the name of your keyword. Where it says Align - select right.
  3. The text on the page must include the keyword - repeated 3 - 5 times. You can write about anything related to the product or keyword. It can be directions for the product's use, can tell the history of  the product, or can be a description of the product or keyword. Remember you need to have at least 150 words in the text - 300 is better.
  4. At the bottom, add a text link that is your keyword. Link it to the page where they can buy the item or items described by your keyword. Most people won't read the text, that is why you have the links that they can click on to go directly to the product page.

Other content pages could have articles on them or other things of interest to a reader that will draw people into your website.
